TikTok Shop: Scaling Social Commerce to Multi-Million-Pound Growth

The Challenge
To expand into social commerce, PLT launched on TikTok Shop, but manual uploads were slow, error-prone and couldn’t scale with demand. The Social team needed automation to manage listings at pace and free up time for growth.

My Role & Approach
I owned the TikTok Shop integration end-to-end. I ran workshops with the Social team to map current processes and design a scalable, automated sync flow. Working with engineers, I defined product rules and validation logic to handle complex categories and ensure listings synced accurately.

One of the biggest challenges was aligning TikTok’s API with existing product and data systems. I coordinated daily across squads, stakeholders, and TikTok’s platform team to resolve mapping issues quickly and prioritise fixes that kept listings live.

Alongside delivery, I focused on long-term enablement, creating guides that allowed the Social team to upload, verify and troubleshoot independently. This reduced developer dependency and gave them time to focus on strategy, not admin.

The Outcome

✓ Seven-figure revenue generated in the first six months
✓ 300K+ weekly revenue during peak periods
✓ ~80% new customers via TikTok Shop
✓ Thousands of SKUs automated, removing manual work
✓ 30+ minutes saved per day for the Social team
